Renate and I are retiring from The Vagrants
Renate and I are retiring from The Vagrants. Our sadness is only crying with one eye, the other eye is smiling with a future full of new challenges.
Details will be posted here in the next couple of weeks. If you want to come, this show will certainly sell out, get a ticket when they go on sale.
The Vagrants have recorded a lot of great music, and have played 1,500 shows in 11 countries. We have loved every minute of it. We have played with a lot of great musicians that have ended up being our best friends and it is like family. We have lost 3 people to early deaths, suffered victories and defeats, seen the big cities and the small towns all over Australia, USA, and Europe. It was fun, but it is a lot of work.
Why are we hanging up our stage clothing? Steve will open a bar on October 1st in Bad Brückenau called Dahlia & Clover (The Irish Cantína). It will be an Irish Bar with Mexican food. Everyone loves Guinness and Nachos, so why not put the 2 together. Renate will be concentrating on her website building, tshirt printing, making logos and graphic designs.
As if that was not enough, we are going to keep doing events. Of course we will continue to hold Sinner Rock, and we will add another festival or 2 to our already busy schedule. The details of all this crazy event schedule will of course be on our website and social media.
In an original band you must constantly be booking gigs, touring, doing promotion of your events, sending out posters, trying to get interviews, updating a website, social media, writing, rehearsing, recording new songs, doing industry deals and the list goes on. We just can't do that anymore. We are musicians at heart, of course we will continue to play music. We will be playing some parties, events, MC clubs, and other local shows, doing high energy rock and roll, mainly covers with a few originals under the name, The Classic Black Band.
